New Features in Foot Analysis System

footanalysissystem

Recently, I implemented more real-time functions in the foot pressure analysis system including foot width, foot length, foot rotation angle, in addition to the previous features such as the center of pressure, and width of stance, and arch index.

The rotated bounding box of the electronic footprints was used to determine the orientation and dimension of the footprints. The rotated bounding box for the entire footprint including toe regions can be created by utilizing the minAreaRect by OpenCV. The length of the long side of the bounding box is the foot length, the length of the short side is the foot width, the rotating angle of the longitudinal axis of the bounding box is the yaw rotation of the foot.

Having a quick and accurate measure of the arch can help match shoes or monitoring foot condition daily for both patients and a healthy population.
