New People at the Lab!

Written by Maria Mamede on October 2, 2018

At the beginning of every semester, we have people go, but we also have incredible and talented new students joining us! It’s a bittersweet situation.

Today, I want to introduce you to Nina and Christy. They are the new member of our family.

Meet Christy!
from Detroit, Michigan
M: Tell me a little secret about you?
C: Hmm.. I have two bunnies at home that are pretty much my children.
M: What are you studying at NYU?
C: I’m a senior doing a double major in Music Technology (Steinhardt) and Computer Science (CAS).
M: What are you up to at the Lab?
C: I am currently working on the Bose AR Sunglasses “Whisper Gallery” project, implementing spatialized transmission of audio based on the position/orientation of the users.
M: What drew you to us?
C: I took a Programming for Mobile VR class this past summer and got to demo CAVE. From there, I knew I had to get involved!
M: What you are most excited about doing and learning at the Lab?
C: I’m excited to learn more about implementing large-scale networked VR and AR experiences, and I’m beyond excited to be learning about and using the OptiTrack motion capture stage.
