Last week, I flew out to Cleveland, Ohio with some others from the NYU CREATE Lab to demo our educational, biological cell builder. On Tuesday of last week, we allowed both middle school students and teachers to try out our science lessons for themselves. For this demo, we were able to make the front end of the application more visually pleasing with particle effects, new animations and multiple cell lessons, including animal, plant and prokaryotic.
It seems that overall, everyone enjoyed the collaborative aspect of our application. We had three people sit around a table and work together to build a cell. Below you can see an example of some of the cells they were able to create.
For this, demo we continued to use the Mira Prism headsets with an iPhone 6. We find that the iPhone front facing camera is not ideal for tracking, however, so we are seeking to use a more powerful external camera or a newer phone model.
