Haptic feedback plays an important role in interaction, but tra- ditional haptic devices are often difficult to access due to their complexity and high cost. A cost-effective approach is to use au- ditory displays to evoke pseudo-haptic sensations by leveraging the brains multisensory processing. Auditory cues can enhance or modify existing haptic feedback, refine low-resolution haptic devices, or generate convincing haptic illusions without physical contact. Despite their potential, audio-influenced pseudo-haptics remain underexplored. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive overview of existing research on audio-influenced pseudo-haptics, summarizing the mapping between different auditory cues and the pseudo-haptics that they elicit, identifying key challenges, and dis- cussing future opportunities. We aim to provide a road map in audio-influenced pseudo-haptics research and inspire further ex- ploration in this field, fostering innovation and guiding the devel- opment of more immersive, functional, and accessible interactive systems.
